Kettle Klomp 2020 - the year of the mask

Well, running a 5k after not running for almost a year was probably not the best idea I ever had. This is especially true when it is cross country on a very hilly course. My spirit was willing but the flesh was weak. Bright side, I didn't die, dark side I was painfully slow.

COVID-19 didn't stop the event and it was a little different having a spaced starting. I run best in a crowd so I can pace myself off of other runners. It was still fun and glad I did it.

Next weekend is a virtual run to remember a true hero, Gary Gordon.

Aging and health care

I really hate seeing what is going on with my Dad, who has serious health issues, and my Mom who is navigating the whole Medicaid thing. Trying to place my Dad in a home and getting Medicaid through is nightmarish.

I pray the lawyer and other people can get it moving. It is unnerving. The whole thing is a maze with no exit.

Lynch and Kenney, always good stuff.

Turning a new leaf.

Well here I go. I made a big step this week. I ended employment after four years at a company and am moving on to new (old) horizons. I am going back to my roots. I am going back to a manufacturing position versus a quality assurance position.

It comes with a little trepidation, but change always does that. I pray for the best. Life is what you make it and I need the change.

I wish all the best for the company I left. All the people there are really amazing people. I had great interactions and developed some friendships that will last.

Here's to the future.
